Abt Associates seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator to support an assessment of environmental exposures and health outcomes among adults and children near Portsmouth, NH\\. This position will be responsible for overseeing study participant enrollment, data and sample collection, and lab processing\\. Supervisory duties include managing an office of 3\\-4 data collection staff, handling sensitive participant information, and overseeing storage and shipment of biological specimens for lab processing\\.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the screening and enrollment of study participants\\. Administer informed consent to individuals who enroll in the study and respond to study inquiries from participants
+ Monitor data entry and storage to protect participant information in compliance with study protocol\\. Maintain log of all protocol deviations
+ Administer a questionnaire to adults and children \\(using a laptop\\)\\. and a battery of neurobehavioral tests to children
+ Collect anthropometric measures of all participants according to study protocol
+ Process and ship urine samples collected by study participants\\. Collect, process, and ship blood samples from all participants
+ Oversee specimen processing, storage, and shipment according to protocol
+ Collect medical and school record data, as needed
+ Provide training and technical supervision to less experienced staff
+ Exercise initiative to resolve complex non\\-routine matters\\. Implement and manage project schedules, plans, goals and budgets under the indirect supervision of more senior staff\\. Independently analyze issues to reconcile and resolve problems
+ Apply knowledge and experience of general operations, systems, and project procedures
+ Some early morning, evening, and weekend hours are required
Preferred Skills / Prerequisites:
+ Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse
+ At least two years of clinical research experience
+ Trained phlebotomist
+ Technical expertise and supervisory/staff development skills
+ Experience working with children
+ Experience processing and shipping biologic specimens
+ Excellent interpersonal communication with adults and children of various ages and various levels of education/backgrounds; professional, respectful and tactful communication with subjects by telephone and in person; ability to communicate effectively and clearly in writing
+ Ability to initiate and follow through on assignments with attention to detail; demonstrated accuracy in work habits
+ Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize, understand and meet deadlines for testing, data entry and general assignments
+ Ability to obtain and respond to sensitive information in a professional manner
+ Demonstrated capabilities in managing project tasks and budgets
+ \\(1\\.\\) Two years of college in a scientific, health related, or business administration program and three years clinical research experience OR \\(2\\.\\) Licensed as a practical nurse \\(LPN\\) and two years clinical research experience OR \\(3\\.\\) Bachelor's degree in a scientific, health related, or business administration related program and one year of clinical research experience
