How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial: The Communications Associate is a part of the National Sales Office that will support the Distribution and Marketing Organization by developing and distributing a wide variety of content for internal and occasionally external audiences. The Communications Associate will be responsible for ensuring that communications align with overall company and departmental level messaging and strategy. The Communications Associate will also develop and implement communications processes and calendar that simplify and improve the flow of information to internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Must be an experienced communications professional who can effectively provide counsel, communication strategies, and writing support for senior leaders and business partners Propose, research, develop and distribute engaging communications across the Distribution organization through various mediums, including email, newsletters, and internal SharePoint platform Independently create, develop, and deliver leadership communications tailored to targeted audiences to achieve desired behaviors/outcomes Simplify complex ideas and strategies from business partners with an understanding of how to make them relevant to the distribution organization Participates in the creation, communication and implementation of tactical business plans and initiatives Supports moderate to large meetings and conferences by developing scripts and other supporting material Support manager in scribing and distributing notes for certain meetings Work effectively through shared processes with others at all levels within the organization Performs other related duties as assigned or required, including some administrative work Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related discipline 1-3 years of relevant work experience Exceptional verbal and written communications skills Ability to digest large amounts of information in short time frames and translate concepts into relevant messages for targeted audiences Works independently with ability to take high level direction to complete complex assignments. Recognized as a team player who routinely shares knowledge and information with others Possesses a strong work ethic and exercises sound judgment Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with Outlook and SharePoint a plus Travel: Less than 25% Number of Openings: 1
