The Position

Reporting directly to Vice President Marketing the Director, Product and Solutions Marketing Cordis Cardiovascular is responsible for the development and execution of the Marketing Plan for CAH Cordis Cardiovascular Products in the United States, including strategic planning, base business strategy, new product launches and business development / other growth drivers activities, in order to strengthen Cardinal Health s US market position as well as maximize revenue growth within a defined budget. These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Formulating the marketing strategy and tactics to meet company goals
  • Developing key business performance metrics, and tracking achievement vs. plan
  • Developing go-to-market models for new and existing products
  • Identifying new business opportunities
  • Building strong customer relationships

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide the planning and leadership to the Marketing Department by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the business plans
  • Assume overall responsibility for developing the annual marketing plan (both strategic and tactical) for the organization; for strategic market planning; market research programs; field force activities, and control of the marketing budget
  • Prepare new product marketing plans for product introductions in cooperation with colleagues in Regulatory, Clinical, Finance and Sales
  • Work closely with US market leaders to support development of next generation products (organic and BD pipeline) and ensure Cardinal Health continues to have the best in industry portfolio with strong technology platforms
  • Establish a system of data analytics and communications for all information from the marketing team to the sales team and for feedback and request from the sales team to the marketing team
  • Maintenance of a continual focus on potential clients and current clients needs and is solution oriented in meeting those needs
  • Participate on relevant US medical industrial committees ensuring that the company has a high level of professional standing
  • Develop ongoing liaison with key opinion leaders to ensure that significant developments in the field are identified and monitored
  • Responsible for performance appraisal of marketing and sales managers and for providing training and development opportunities.
  • Develop the supporting business case and P&L based on the strategic plan
  • Drive go-to-market tactics, meet or exceed acquisition-related performance goals based on key performance metrics around order volume, revenue growth and customer acquisition
  • Forward thinking and research (market analysis, monitoring of competitive activity and identification of client s needs) for new strategic business opportunities
  • Analyze competitor products and features, selected financial metrics, and industry trends to benchmark organizational performance to the industry and other competitors in the US

  • Formulates and ensures execution of Marketing Plan

Business Development

  • Provides forecast and key inputs for financial model
  • Prepares and directs execution of product launch on time
  • Data analytics driven capability

Strategic Planning

  • Develops clear analysis of current market macro environment, market strengths and gaps, opportunities and risks
  • Provides key inputs for strategic planning process

KOL & Key Accounts Engagements

  • Builds strong customer relationships, including KOLs and emerging leaders
  • Establishes VOC surveys to monitor company / product perception
  • Actively engages key accounts and monitors revenue contributions

Cardinal Health & CAH Brand

  • Stands as ambassador of Cardinal Health / CAH brand and monitors internal / external perceptions

Key Experiences / Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in related field and 10+ years experience in marketing, preferably in medical device industry
  • Master of Business Administration preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of medical device industry and company products required.
  • 8+ years experience in direct management of marketing individuals required
  • High enthusiasm, creativity and desire to work on an innovative team
  • Very strong analytical, strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and general business skills required
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and is comfortable making both monetary and strategic decisions
  • Ability to initiate strategy discussions, executes projects, and manages various marketing activities
  • Ability to perform in a team-oriented environment and is comfortable leading projects to completion.
  • Effective communications with clear and precise written documentation.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and integrate large amounts of complex, disparate information into clear concise presentations and plans
  • Entrepreneurial personality with a bias for action and works well under pressure

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Overall management responsibilities for Marketing function and team, through direct and indirect line managers
