The position is for an experienced Business / Technical Analyst to join the Strategy, Practices, Risk & Controls (SPARC) team within the Platform Business Unit | Enterprise Technology Operations (ETO) department. The mission of SPARC, as the analytical arm of an operational organization, is to drive innovation and institute positive change through process design, training, risk, operations & governance, and financial expertise. As recognized business analysts and risk managers, we influence firmwide technology excellence and drive operational risk governance and controls. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL Developing and instituting a data and root cause analysis program across ETO to drive down recurring/ repeating issues and costly problems, reduction and/ or elimination of Call/Ticket/Alert/Incident/R-W access/Change volume, etc Centralized reporting / dashboarding by root cause and criticality, incorporate multiple data sources, e.g. Incidents, Alerts, Calls/Tickets, RW Prod Access, Change Break/Fix & Emergency changes Identifying data quality and integration issues/challenges/opportunities across various sample sets and a number of tools/databases; Identifying if any process and/or toolset changes can be made to improve data quality and consistency Provide a level of governance, discipline and process standardization for data and root cause analysis Apply stochastic modeling and various data manipulation / pattern matching techniques to uncover 'needles in the haystacks' Build and maintain stakeholder engagement to help drive remediation efforts to address issues/problems/risks identified Drive development teams and/or stakeholders to remediate the issue(s) identified (continuous service improvement) Drive transformation opportunities within and across ETO, where applicable and appropriate Ensure emphasis around strategic, global planning. Evaluate, recommend, and steer towards building efficiencies and automation. Strive for globally consistent processes at all times. Manage and drive the team towards major milestone achievement(s). Encourage creativity and out of the box thinking in creating solutions and elevating the workspace to the next level. Build upon services taxonomy/namespace to assist in the consistent categorization of ETO activities. Make recommendations in additional enhancements to better capture symptoms and deficiencies in the environment. Tie in quality broadly and ensure adherence to foundational quality measures that have been established. Introduce new methodologies. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR Design and development of dashboards, visualizations, heat maps, and other analytical tools (e.g. Qlikview, Kibana, Pure, etc.) Functional and technical requirement gathering and documentation experience Data science / modeling knowledge - e.g. big data text mining and manipulation; machine learning; data normalization; stochastic and algorithmic modeling Coding background/ working knowledge in coding languages, e.g. R, Python, Java, etc. Maintains awareness of new and existing technologies, architectures and best practices Contributes to development of new or existing technologies, architectures or best practices Encourages flexible and adaptable architectures Uses judgment and experiences to adapt processes and tools to projects Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Technical proficiency with Windows platform Some technical background across various infrastructure and application related technologies, e.g. network, voice, unix, windows, messaging, database, APIs Must be able to efficiently document process and procedures Working knowledge of analytical tools (e.g. Qlikview, Kibana, Pure, etc.) Data science / modeling knowledge - e.g. big data text mining and manipulation; machine learning; data normalization; stochastic and algorithmic modeling Coding background/ working knowledge in coding languages, e.g. R, Python, Java, etc. Design and development of dashboards, visualizations, heat maps, and other analytical tools Teamwork - This position involves not only working well with others within one team but with many resolution groups globally Ability to work independently, analyze problems, and make decisions with minimal management intervention Proactively involve key technology infrastructure teams when necessary Ability to anticipate potential obstacles and develop contingency plans to overcome them Awareness of new and existing technologies, architectures, and best practice Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously in high pressure environment where change is commonplace.
