Brief Job Overview:
The Director of Marketing plans, directs and manages the functional groups within the Marketing Department, including brand management, brand strategy, communications, website-digital, advertising, promotions, trade shows, content creation, public relations, and dealer coop. There are presently 9 direct reports, but other positions could eventually be added. The department's primary function is to provide divisions and dealers on time delivery of marketing tools for their products.The Director of Marketing reports to the Sr VP of Sales and Marketing (member of the Corporate Board of Directors).
Specific Job Duties:
Develop the overall vision of the Marketing Department, in line with the organization's vision and strategy, to maintain a competitive advantage. Review and/or develop business processes for each Marketing area for measurement and continuous improvement.
Own and develop the Brand Strategy for the company in alignment with the Global Major Brand Strategy. Annually review and update company retail brand guidelines.
Communicate/educate
all departments on brand compliance. Own and defend proper use of the company brand.
Own the execution of marketing activities thru the divisions and dealers - including regional advertising and dealer direct annual dealer budgets and plans.
Public Relations - manage public communications in partnership w/executives, HR and legal - all announcements including but not limited to organizational changes, philanthropy and product launches.
Responsible for all content creation in working with Product Marketing Directors to fulfill all marketing requirements, including new product launch plans.
Own the relationship and management of agencies, vendors (includes literature fulfillment, photographers, videographers not already associated w/agencies.
Trade show leadership in respect to strategy, execution and customer activation in each phase pre, during and post show. Develop and measure results.
Develop CRM strategy and execution tool to manage and promote to each customer/product segment. Work cross-functionally with leaders to determine opportunities, develop strategies and ensure execution of customer relationship management to provide relevant insights and recommendations to team members across the organization. Partner w/PMO department on any CRM strategy, new hire, new software and tools. Consult and partner w/legal team on this as well.
Data Security - sign and adhere to company data security policy and procedures, including but not limited to opt outs on customer email/phone.
Responsible for managing dealer assessment fee for advertising. Communicate to dealers ROI fee in consistent, visible manner.
Responsible for development of the messaging for each product and customer segment by working with the Product Marketing Directors, agencies and marketing team. Evaluate agency performance on annual basis w/PMD and make changes w/PMD concurrence.
Collaborate with other departments including subsidiaries regarding marketing activities and systems to maximize sales. Actively work with Legal department on approvals on disclaimers and literature review.
Actively solicit information from dealer network via Advisory Boards, phone or mail surveys, and on site visits to identify potential improvements and/or additions to existing marketing products.
Plan, manage and measure the function's human resources and develop a strong workforce to ensure future growth of the company. Develop process of position documentation including process and procedures for each position.
Develop and manage operating budgets for assigned functions.
Develop/manage/publish
employee newsletter on quarterly basis.
Develop and execute a social media strategy w/measurements on each platform and engagement levels.
Management and development of website.
Special Projects
: may include developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and performance of the Marketing Department, in support of overall company objectives. These special projects will typically include managing change within the organization.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or engineering. MBA preferred.
10 or more years of experience in senior management within the agricultural, construction, or industrial equipment industry.
Strong planning, technical and organizations skills. Detail-oriented, analytical thinker and comfortable working with executive level decision makers.
Reputation of carrying out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.
Leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to motivate managers and staff.
Skilled in synthesizing complex business and industry issues/concepts into relevant and compelling communications for a variety of audiences.
Flexible and ability to adapt to various, changing situations.
Solid working knowledge of Equipment Dealership operations and business practices.
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work with media, including having experience as a company spokesperson.
Familiarity with implementation of CRM software tools.
Must have extensive knowledge in Digital Marketing management.

: In addition to the salary there is an annual bonus potential of 20% (consistently paid).
